Job Summary
We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Furniture Designer with experience in modular furniture and interior manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design modular kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, vanities, storage units, beds, study tables, office furniture, and other customized furniture.
- Understand client requirements, site measurements, space constraints, and design concepts.
- Prepare accurate 2D drawings, working drawings, elevations, sections, and detailed furniture drawings.
- Develop 3D furniture models and realistic designs as required.
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), Cut List, and hardware requirements.
- Ensure designs are technically feasible and suitable for factory production.
- Coordinate closely with Production, CNC, Cutting, Edge Banding, Assembly, Purchase, and Installation teams.
- Modify designs based on client requirements, site conditions, and production feasibility.
- Select suitable materials, laminates, veneers, finishes, hardware, profiles, and accessories.
- Ensure proper dimensions, clearances, joints, hardware positions, and construction details.
- Prepare production drawings with accurate dimensions and specifications.
- Coordinate with the production team to resolve design-related issues during manufacturing.
- Visit project sites when required for measurement, verification, and installation coordination.
- Review completed furniture and ensure it matches approved drawings and specifications.
- Maintain proper records of drawings, revisions, BOMs, and design approvals.
- Stay updated with the latest furniture designs, materials, hardware, finishes, and industry trends.
Requirements
Software Skills
Candidate should have good knowledge of relevant design software such as:
- AutoCAD
- SketchUp
- 3ds Max / V-Ray – preferred
- 2020 Design / Kitchen Design software – preferred
- SolidWorks / Inventor – an advantage
- BOM & Cut List software
- Any other modular furniture design/CNC-related software
Preferred Candidate Profile
Education: Diploma / Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, Product Design, or a related field.
Experience: 2–6 years of relevant experience in modular furniture, kitchen, wardrobe, or interior furniture manufacturing.
