Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to handle the preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of machinery and equipment used in furniture manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of furniture manufacturing machines.
- Maintain and troubleshoot machines used in modular furniture and panel furniture production.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
- Ensure minimum machine downtime and maximum equipment availability.
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain maintenance records, breakdown reports, and machine service history.
- Coordinate with production teams to resolve machine-related issues quickly.
- Monitor machine performance and identify recurring breakdown problems.
- Manage spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of critical components.
- Coordinate with external service engineers and machine suppliers for major repairs.
- Ensure proper functioning of motors, bearings, belts, chains, sensors, switches, and other machine components.
- Maintain compressors, dust extraction systems, air lines, and other factory utility equipment.
- Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, calibration, and servicing of machines.
- Support machine installation, commissioning, relocation, and trial production.
- Implement safety procedures and ensure machine guards and emergency stops are functional.
- Train operators in basic machine maintenance and safe operating practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve machine efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
Requirements
Machinery Knowledge Required
The candidate should have experience with some of the following machines:
- CNC Router / CNC Nesting Machine
- Homag CNC Machines
- Biesse CNC Machines
- Panel Saw / Beam Saw
- Edge Banding Machines
- Multiboring / Drilling Machines
- Cold Press / Hot Press Machines
- Membrane Press Machines
- Wide Belt Sander
- Dust Collection Systems
- Air Compressors
- Furniture assembly and finishing equipment
Qualification & Experience
Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
Experience: 3–5 years of relevant experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in modular furniture, panel furniture, woodworking, or furniture manufacturing.
Preferred Candidate: Someone with hands-on experience maintaining CNC routers, beam saws, edge banding machines, and automated woodworking machinery.
