
Job Description

Read and interpret detailed furniture drawings and blueprints.

Select and prepare appropriate hardwoods (like teak, oak, sheesham, etc.) for projects.

Cut, plane, shape, and join solid wood using both hand tools and machines.

Construct furniture such as dining tables, chairs, bed frames, doors, and cabinets.

Execute precise joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, dovetail, tongue and groove, etc.
-
Sand, seal, and finish wood surfaces to high standards (including polishing, staining, or oiling).

Repair or restore antique or damaged wooden furniture when required.

Operate woodworking machines like spindle moulder, bandsaw, surface planer, and lathe.

Maintain proper handling and storage of wood to avoid warping or damage.
-
Work closely with designers and supervisors to deliver premium, custom-built products.
-
Ensure safety practices and upkeep of tools and machinery.
