Job Description

• Read and interpret detailed furniture drawings and blueprints.

• Select and prepare appropriate hardwoods (like teak, oak, sheesham, etc.) for projects.

• Cut, plane, shape, and join solid wood using both hand tools and machines.

• Construct furniture such as dining tables, chairs, bed frames, doors, and cabinets.

• Execute precise joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, dovetail, tongue and groove, etc.

• Sand, seal, and finish wood surfaces to high standards (including polishing, staining, or oiling).

• Repair or restore antique or damaged wooden furniture when required.

• Operate woodworking machines like spindle moulder, bandsaw, surface planer, and lathe.

• Maintain proper handling and storage of wood to avoid warping or damage.

• Work closely with designers and supervisors to deliver premium, custom-built products.

• Ensure safety practices and upkeep of tools and machinery.
