Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical drawings and 3D models of furniture pieces using CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar).
• Work closely with the design and production teams to translate customer requirements and concepts into accurate and manufacturable designs.
• Develop furniture specifications for materials, finishes, dimensions, and hardware to ensure consistency with design standards and client expectations.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production managers to address any design challenges or modifications.
• Ensure all furniture designs comply with industry standards, quality regulations, and safety guidelines.
• Provide clear and concise drafting instructions to the production team, ensuring designs are feasible and efficient to manufacture.
• Revise and update drawings based on client feedback, material availability, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Create layout plans for furniture installations in residential or commercial spaces, ensuring optimal use of space and design integrity.
• Maintain an organized archive of all technical drawings, sketches, and design documents for future reference and revisions.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in furniture design, materials, and manufacturing technologies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Drafting, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Draftsman in the furniture industry or related sectors.
• Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, etc.) and other design tools.
• Strong understanding of furniture design, materials, and construction methods.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to create accurate and functional designs.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with designers, engineers, and production teams.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and regulations is a plus.
