Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood for furniture, fixtures, doors, windows, and other structures.
- Operate a variety of manual and power carpentry tools, including saws, drills, and sanders, under supervision.
- Follow blueprints and designs to ensure accurate assembly and installation of wood products.
- Help with the installation of wooden structures, including cabinets, shelves, and frames, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
- Maintain and care for carpentry tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Assist skilled carpenters in the fabrication of wood products, learning new techniques and gaining hands-on experience.
- Help with the preparation of materials and ensure the correct quantity and quality of materials are available for each job.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following all health and safety guidelines.
- Assist with basic repairs and adjustments to existing wooden structures and furniture when required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Some experience or training in carpentry or woodworking is preferred, but not required.
- Basic knowledge of carpentry tools, techniques, and safety procedures.
- Ability to follow instructions and blueprints accurately.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Strong willingness to learn and improve carpentry skills.
- Attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality work.
